The radiant Ryder returns with another leaked single: “Ruins.” Produced by David Pramik and Kiddcolour, the song crescendoes on trip-pop beats into a crashing, epic pop soar of blasting power synths and of course her signature, soulfully soaring vox.
“I’ve got a heart on the edge and it wants to break.”
The artist known as Ryder is a dreadlocked Weho transplant from New York who cites the “unguarded spirituality of tribal mystics” as a major influence. For her debut single, “Pretty Little Gangster,” she managed to recruit producer Cali Cleve and the result is a superb indie pop smash built on cascading trip-pop beats and a lush vox altering between swirling soars and swagger flows.

Emily Vaughn is a Weho (by way of Florida) indie popster who just leaked her second single, “Better Off,” off her forthcoming debut EP. Led by her sultry vox, the track is laden with trap-pop percussion and dark synths which alleviate during the airy, hooktastic chorus.

Weho‘s Steph Thompson records as the moniker Steffaloo which sounds like the name of a stuffed animal she was once attached to as a child. Her music also carries a stripped-down innocent vibe via acoustic guitar, ukulele, gentle percussion, and her sweet soft echoing voice. Always evoking over lo-fi white noise, she’s comes off as a slightly happier Emily Jane White or Bon Iver‘s little step-sister.
