Lizzy Land (her real name) is a Portland native who now calls DTLA home. After spending some time performing in Mating Ritual, she has now sparked her solo career by leaking the first single, “Sweet Melodies,” off her forthcoming debut EP. Produced by Taylor Lawhon (a.k.a. Suede James), the chill, pop song floats on a wave of intricate synth work, midtempo beats, and a sharp vox with breathy choruses.

Out of a practice space in Bernal Heights, comes a wickedly adorable indie rock pop act called HEARTWATCH. Their self-titled debut full-length drops on February 26th and was recorded with producer Damien Lewis (Kimbra, Marina and the Diamonds) at Jackpot! Studios in Portland. And judging by its latest leaked single, “Never Let You Go,” we assume it’ll be ripe with relentless hooks of optimistic power-pop.

As vagabonds between Australia, Portland, and Silver Lake, Eli Hirsch and Quincy Saunders make infectiously danceable, indie rock pop as Superhighway. Here’s their latest leaked single, “We Are Vultures,” off their forthcoming debut EP which they claim is for “the whole family to enjoy.”

After three years of living in Portland, the garage rock trio known as Bodhi finally grew tired of the rain and wisely moved south. Now living in Hollywood, the band continues to make surf rock noir fitted for a vintage horror film set on the beach at night. Guitarist/vocalist Brian Carr’s talk-voice style can be shockingly attentive after a few spins (even when he screams), like he’s narrating a slumber party ghost story. And while the band’s moniker may not be referencing Patrick Swayze’s infamous character in Point Break, we still like to pretend it is.
