"Motor Rally" by LA Font

1383615328LAFont4285colorsflagEcho Park‘s eccentric rawkers LA Font will drop a new 7″ (via Kill/Hurt on July 29th) featuring two more indie rock blasts illegitimately sired by garage pop and party punk. The B-side is “Motor Rally” which frontman Danny Bobbe explains is:

“…a two-minute rock song about what it takes to become a motocross champion. For one thing, your mom can’t be a chaperone at the prom.”

LA Font continues their July residency at The Satellite on 7-14 along with Spaceships, Sego, and Doja Cat.

"Onshore" by LA Font

LA Font - Philip GadrowLA Font is everywhere. They’re the guys that beat you to the thrift store and picked out all the good stuff. They’re the guys that crashed your boring neighbor’s house party and made it fun. But mostly, they’re the guys that played onstage at that one Echo Park dive bar you went to for someone’s birthday you barely knew. You said you’d only stay for a beer, but after watching the band spazz into a frenzy of garage pop rock, you got drunk, danced dirty, and licked someone’s face –then realized this is how every weeknight should be. LA Font‘s latest single is “Onshore”:

LA Font have a 7″ split with Missing Teen coming out in June on Near Mess Records. Their upcoming LP Diving Man was produced by Eric Palmquist (Night Riots, Bad Suns). Free Bike Valet is presenting their next show at The Central along with Rainbow JacksonHobart W. Fink, and John Wayne Bro. And it’s free!

"Flamingo Starr" by Rainbow Jackson

Rainbow Jackson 2495 1With a moniker that’s a pun on their favorite athlete (Bo Jackson) and a logo/mascot that’s a Care Bear fallen to vices, it’s easy to assume that Rainbow Jackson is full of characters. The scruffy quartet spends a lot of time at their Echo Park apartment/practice space crushing cheap beer, getting homemade tattoos, and shredding gritty pop rock blended with psychedelic grooves. They created a music video for their latest single, “Flamingo Starr,” but really it’s an open invite to come party at their place:

This month, Rainbow Jackson will release a 7″ split with Hindu Pirates on Near Mess Records and are currently working on their next EP. This Tuesday, May 7th, Free Bike Valet and Us Vs Them co-present the first night of their May residency at The Central along with LA Font, Hobart W. Fink, and John Wayne Bro. And it’s free!
