Formerly known as Hurry Death, the band known as Lone Kodiak formed from the ashes of Portland’s emberghost. Now based in Echo Park, they’ve decided to slowly release a collection of covers (all by female artists) as a precursor to their debut EP. The latest release in their series is “Leap Year” by Maria Taylor which was first introduced to frontman Dainéal Parker by a girl who he would eventually move across the country for. The band’s version of the ethereal song is less dreamy digi-pop and more atmospheric indie rock, but the intimate sentimentally remains pure.
“I will wait for you, but please come soon.”
