“Randy’s Blues” by Jesus Sons (Premiere)

1438468727unnamed1Rock ‘n’ roll doesn’t get more real than Jesus Sons. Originally formed in a motorcycle repair shop in The Mission by lead singer/songwriter Brandon Wurtz and guitarist Shannon Dean, the duo recruited more garage-blues rockers after they released their self-titled debut LP and moved south to Los Angeles. After a nationwide tour, a 7″, and many packs of cigarettes, the shaggy haired brethren built a makeshift studio in bandmate Bert Hoover’s (also of Hooveriii) house in El Segundo now dubbed The Cave. Producer Rob Good was recruited again to bring his analogue recording methods which were utilized in a bathroom-based vocal booth and “live room” garage. The result is their sophomore album, Bring It On Home, dropping September 8th via Mock Records. And judging by its first leaked single, “Randy’s Blues,” (featuring Elvis Kuehn of Small Wigs and FIDLAR on wurlitzer) the stoner-minded act is no longer wearing their classic rock influences on their sleeves but is now shoving it in your face.

“Been looking to Jesus, but he’s not there.”

Jesus Sons‘ record release show is on September 10th at The Echo.
