"Mono Lake" by Cougar On A Meth Binge

imageUsually a band chooses their name after forming, but Cougar On A Meth Binge began when married couple Donovan Russell and Lauren Alegre (of The Alegre Sisters) conjured the quirky epithet one cold night in their downtown Oakland studio. Eventually their self-described “indie-folk strumfest with a death metal moniker” came to fruition with the lo-fi EP Greetings Kittens which they claim is about “ancestral spirits, being lonely, and humorous dancing.” Here’s the banjo led “Mono Lake”:
