"Lay Down And Die" by Hank And Her Ponies

HAHP Press Pic 3SoCal alt-country isn’t restricted to just dusty deserts and weathered saloons. Based out of a house across the street from Sunset “Surfside” BeachHank And Her Ponies is a young motley crew of old souls that records a blend of blues, roots rock, and folk –what they like to call “sweet mermaid music”– out of a 1967 Shasta trailer parked in their yard. Lead by the duo of Lauren Chanel Cobb and Ryan Bartholemy (no one in the band is actually named “Hank”), they made their debut EP Introducing Hank And Her Ponies as a dreamy ode to heartache and western grit all carried by Cobb’s sleepy croon. They plan to release a follow-up EP this Spring but for now here’s “Lay Down And Die”:

Hank And Her Ponies will perform one of Detroit Bar‘s final shows on Saturday, February 22nd with Spindrift, Restavrant, and Parker Macy Blues Band.
