"Gave Away" by Western Lows

WesternLowsMainWestern Lows features Jack Burnside of former Echo Park staple Mezzanine Owls. The band gradually formed as Burnside spent 2011 gathering material and in 2012 traveled to Athens, GA to team up with Andy LeMaster of Now It’s Overhead and renown producer (Bright Eyes, Azure Ray) at Chase Park Transduction. The duo created songs inspired by what they love: shoegaze dream pop by bands like Mazzy Star, Mission Of Burma, Guided By Voices or The Cure. The resulting vibe is a sedated stroll through an early morning’s brisk fog, but soon the sun will come up and burn off the haze.

Their debut album, Glacial, was released today by Jaxart Records. Jeremy Wheatley (Crooked Fingers) and Clay Leverett (Bright Eyes) split the drums for the record and Orenda Fink (Azure Ray) contributed vocals on “I Will.” Listen to the single “Gave Away” and let your subconscious drown…

Western Lows‘ album release show for Glacial is tonight at The Echo along with Francisco The Man and LA Font.
