"Lies" Music Video & Get Deap EP Trailer by Deap Vally

1351532011SHEFFIELD_DV_2012_0933It’s difficult to not get caught up in the buzz blitz over Deap Vally. They’re attractive women that wear short jean shorts and halter tops and shred more than shark’s teeth. By now, you should have heard about how they met in a crochet class at The Little Knittery in Atwater Village. And how guitarist/vocalist Lindsey Troy always performs barefoot and drummer Julie Edwards was in The Pity Party. Or how they inadvertently became a two-piece because their original bassist went on tour with another band. But all the lore and hype is irrelevant to how your ears will erupt once you’ve heard their rugged raucous riffs in the music video for “Lies” (directed by Tim Mattia):

Deap Vally will release their Lars Stalfors (The Mars Volta, Matt & Kim) produced debut EP entitled Get Deap (Cherrytree/Communion/Interscope/Island) this Tuesday, April 9th.

Check out the album’s trailer below with the duo quoting:

“I think that’s really the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. You know? It’s like rebellion… and release.”

  1. […] a lot of great bands in L.A. at the moment like Gothic Tropic, Fever The Ghost, Carina Round, and Deap Vally. I’d like to think of L.A. as our home now […]
