"Seventh Avenue" by Sanglorians

For their self-titled debut album (often called The Blue Album), Weezer spawned a catchy blend of power-pop fuzz via producer Ric Ocasek of The Cars. Ocasek continued the sound with Nada Surf‘s debut album High/Low, but later a bunch of Pasadena kids called Ozma adopted it and made it their own well into the aughts. And for those who are depressed that no one remembers this, stop taking your meds because Ozma bassist/vocalist Daniel Brummel started a new band called Sanglorians. But unlike his last band, this band includes not only a girl on keys but also a girl on violin!

Their debut album Initiation was engineered by Aron GeldbergOzma bandmate Ryen Slegr, and Bryan Sims (Moonshine Studios). It is due for release early next year.

But you don’t have to wait to get a taste because the Silver Lake sextet recently leaked the track “Seventh Avenue”:

Sanglorians will perform at The Central this Tuesday along with Go West Young Man, Hot TV, and Cut & Colour. And it’s FREE!
